After much deliberation between the directors, staff, and 2006 Officer Candidates, the awaited slate of officers has been announced. Next year, we boast a fine set of captains who will assist the directors and staff. The new positions are as follows: Matt Miller, a 5th year member of the clarinet section will assume the role of Drum Major; Brad Brackfield, a 4th year member of the trumpet section, as well as a first year member of the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps will assume the role of Band Captain; Nicholas Whatley, a 5th year member of the alto saxophone section will assume the role of Woodwind Captain; Emily Nickles, a 4th-year member of the Baritone section will assume the role of Brass Captain; Cody Crawford, a 4th-year percussionist and Taylor Strutton, a 5th-year percussionist will be assuming the roles of Percussion Captains. The Color Guard captain(s) will be announced at a later date. Thank you to all of the students who had the courage and leadership skills to audition for an officer's position, we encourage you to audition in the future years.
